No — Trading Station works alongside MetaTrader 5, not instead of it. You still need an MT5 account and broker. Trading Station gives you a powerful web-based control layer on top of MT5, so you can manage everything from your phone without touching the MT5 app.
Three things: a Trade By Focus account (free), a MetaTrader 5 broker account, and a PC or VPS running MT5 with Trading Station connected. During beta, access is via VT Markets. Once you’re set up, you can manage up to 3 pairs simultaneously — all from your phone or laptop, without touching MT5 again.
No — Trading Station is a web-based platform. Open it in any browser on your phone, tablet, or laptop. No download needed, no app store approval to wait for. It works exactly the same on every device.
Yes — completely seamlessly. Your account, trades, tasks, and settings are all synced in real time. Start a task on your laptop, check the result on your phone. Edit a trade preset on your phone, it’s there when you open your laptop. Everything lives in the platform, not the device.
Yes. Trading Station lets you group open trades so you can manage them together — apply a trailing stop, partial close, or move SL to breakeven across the whole group in one action. Ideal if you’ve scaled into a position across multiple entries.
Yes — including mid-trade. You don’t have to set a trailing stop at entry. Open a trade, let it run, and activate a trailing stop whenever you want. You can also set it to trigger automatically when TP1 is hit.
Yes. The Task Builder lets you define your own entry conditions — session range breakouts, EMA crossovers, opening range setups and more. Set the criteria once, activate the task, and it will enter trades for you when the conditions are met — even if you’re asleep or at work.
MT5 needs to be running for Trading Station to stay connected and execute your tasks — so yes, your PC or a VPS needs to stay on. We recommend running MT5 on a VPS (Virtual Private Server) so it stays live 24/5 without your home computer needing to be on. We can point you in the right direction when you onboard.
During beta, Trading Station is optimised for VT Markets — our preferred broker. More brokers are coming soon. If you already have an MT5 account elsewhere, stay registered and we’ll let you know when your broker is supported.
